Each Thursday evening, in the relaxed setting of a real comedy club, beginner comedians can come learn the ropes of writing for the standup stage, and meet working Boston comics who attend the workshop to develop their own material. This free weekly workshop is the ideal place for new comedians to learn about the Boston comedy scene, and the art of writing for standup comedy. Join your peers as they throw out ideas, have discussions about writing methods, working through writer's block, stage persona, basic stagecraft, the local scene and booking yourself.
Never been on stage? Aren't sure how to write for standup? No problem. Although working comics come each week to write, this workshop is still very beginner-friendly. And on some occasions, there are even guest speakers. This workshop is free and open to all comedians.
